Iā€™m Matt Friedman, a Photographer and Woodworker living in Vista, California.

Originally from New York City, my wife Alana and I moved out to the San Diego area in September 2019 (a month after our wedding!) to start our family. As the son of a painter, I developed an appreciation for art at an early age, and spent the majority of my childhood and adulthood learning the fundamentals of many fine and performance art media. After college, I bought a camera and taught myself photography, developing a love for capturing the beauty of nature and cities. After moving to the suburbs of San Diego, I began to teach myself woodworking, and learned that my love of capturing the beauty of nature extended to working with, and shaping wood.

Named after our amazing dog Maya, and loving cat, Jazzy, I formed Jazzaya Studios to bring together my love of photography and woodworking together. Thanks for stopping by!
